How to Build a Billion Dollar App | Book Review
How to build a billion dollar app | Book Review – George Berkowski @GeorgeBerkowski
What’s it all about?
Building the next Whatsapp, Snapchat or Instagram! A really quite novel approach to mapping out a process for creating and then scaling a breakthrough app-based business. The book is littered with fantastic and modern examples of challenges and success of real apps., including the honest and frank stories behind the author’s own adventure with the mobile app industry. Very up to date and relevant, and a great read for any budding entrepreneur interested in the tech scene and the new app economy.
Who wrote it?
George Berkowski – one of the founders and product visionaries behind the Hailo taxi cab app. After leaving Hailo, George now works on his new venture IceCream (https://givemeicecream.com/); the camera app that never runs out of memory/space. He also operates this great blog site, which compliments this book: http://mybilliondollarapp.com/
Indulging your dreams of building the next big thing in the mobile app world. It’s actually full of really valuable insight and a way of getting your head into the exciting but daunting app industry. The examples are good learning studies and the book steps through the stages of your app’s lifetime, from launch to billion-dollar valuation.
Long read / easy read?
Easy read, medium length, 425 pages of reading. Structured to follow stages of your app’s development (and success), this can be a bit daunting if you don’t yet have an app (like me!), but you can still enjoy the read and gain a lot from it even if your ground breaking app is still a dream and your user acquisition isn’t moving quite as fast as your page turn!
